Preston is ONE!

We had a great day celebrating Preston's FIRST birthday! The girls were so excited to surprise him with a birthday cookie in his crib first thing that morning. It took him a minute to figure out what we were doing, but once he realized that cookie was for him, he was all in!

Only on your first birthday, can you get away with making a big mess like this in your bed!

Next, Preston and Mommy had a special date to get his pictures taken. He looked so handsome and did so great. He gave us lots of smiles and even held still long enough to snap some really cute pictures. 

 One of the best parts of Preston's birthday was the fact that Grandma Margie was in town to celebrate with us! Preston loved having her here and really grew attached to her that week. We all went out to dinner at Good Wood for some yummy barbecue!

 

Preston's favorite part of dinner was the giant ice cream sundae they brought for him. He was fascinated by the cherry!

 It was such a fun day celebrating our little man. It's hard to believe that his first year has already come and gone! He has grown and changed so much and his little personality is really starting to bloom. Here are some of the things Preston  has been up to lately:

• He LOVES to drink through straws, and LOVES to blow bubbles through them even more!
• His newest tricks are clapping, doing "So BIG" and pretending to go "Night Night".
• His favorite trick is shaking his head NO whenever  I ask him to perform one of his tricks!
• His newest words are Ball and Baby. 
• He is a screamer....not when he's mad, just when we are out in public. He thinks it's hilarious to scream as loud as he can...just for fun. We are still working on a solution for this little habit!
• He is about to walk any day now. He practically runs around the house pushing his walker toys and cruises the furniture, usually with one hand.
• He loves Mickey Mouse. It's the only show he will sit and watch for more than 5 minutes. He especially loves to dance to the songs! Here's a clip of him in action...

 This little guy is full of life and brings so much joy to our family! I'm so glad he's ours.
