Bye Bye Binkie

Addison has been officially binkie free now for about 2 weeks! We knew that we wanted to help her break the habit before Preston arrived, and the other night, I just got that "mommy" feeling that it was the right night to try. We we went on a binkie hunt and Addison helped me gather up all her binkies. Then we packaged them up and sent them bye bye. We talked about how she was such a big girl now and didn't need them anymore. She really seemed to understand! When it came to bedtime, she cried for about 10-15 minutes and asked for her binkie a few times, but we just continued to remind her that they were bye bye, and she fell to sleep and slept all night with out it. For the remainder of the week, she cried at bedtime and naptime for a few minutes before falling asleep, but for the most part it was a smooth transition!! Now everytime she sees a binkie, she is quick to remind me that binkies are for babies, like Preston. I'm so proud of her. She is really getting ready to be a big sister!
