Mommy's Getaway

I recently had the opportunity for a quick weekend getaway. I know my mommy friends out there would be quick to agree that opportunities like this do not happen very often, so I was certainly not going to let this pass me by. My mom was headed to Dallas, to visit my brother. She graciously invited me to join her, so I happily agreed, and off I went.

The highlight of this trip was a visit to the Texas State Fair! For some reason, it's something I've wanted to do for quite some time! And let me tell you, it did not disappoint!! We enjoyed a day full of fun rides, crazy things to see, and of course tons of FRIED food. There were just too many things to try, so we narrowed it down to Fried Chocolate, Fried Cookie Dough, Fried Guacamole and their famous Fletchers Cornydogs! I would say that the Fried Cookie Dough was the best by far, but honestly, it was all surprisingly good! Blake and Shelby also took us all around to other fun spots in Dallas. (And actually one of the best parts was sleeping in past 9am two days in a row!) Of course, this was all thanks to Josh was stayed home to hold down the fort and take care of the girls. What an awesome husband and daddy he is!
